The Stories We Are | Our Stories Our Voices | 25th – 29th June , 10:00-16:30at Glasgow School of Art – Reid Building | FREE (donations welcome)

Everyone has stories worth sharing. Stories live and breathe within us; they change and take on new meaning as we grow. Many of the groups we work with at The Village often feel bound by their stories, their identities and their challenges. We work with groups in our own neighbourhood of Pollok and across the city to support reflection, identify the many gifts people bring to their communities. We celebrate their voices – loudly and with pride.

This exhibition brings together stories and artwork created by our participants, exploring the theme of identity. Who are we? What do we stand for? How do our stories look and sound? Come along and experience the journey, inspiration, and memories of the people behind the art. This exhibition blends visual art, audio recordings, videos and text created by adults in Glasgow.

Facilitated and curated by Daiva Ivanauskaite-Brown & Trinidad Cabezón Droguett. Artists & collaborators involved: Eilidh Traynor, Greer Pester, Lababa Naqvi, Dawn Campbell, Stuart Mitchell and Andy Gunn. Partner Organisation: Wheatley Care.

The exhibition will take place at Glasgow School of Art – Reid Building, 164 Renfrew St, Glasgow G3 6RQ.
