The sound of strings and stories meld together in this journey around a Scottish community. A celebration of the folks that live, work and play in Dunterlie, Barrhead. Using traditional music with stories both personal and mythical to create an impression of the streets and houses, this performance seeks to briefly transport you somewhere new and perhaps long ago.
Harp and Carp is a collaboration between The Village Storytelling Centre, The Folks Music Project and The Dunterlie Community Centre. It is part of a long-term residency, funded by Creative Scotland’s Culture Collective fund through TRACS, exploring the cultural hopes and wishes of the community as well as celebrating their folk stories and history.
